Personal habit tracker

Habit Streaks

A single-user habit tracker where one signed-in person defines habits with an every-day or N-times-per-week goal, checks in once per local calendar day, and reviews streaks, completion rate, and a check-in calendar. Data is saved in the cloud for the signed-in user only.

Users and roles

The people who interact with the product.

Habit owner

The single signed-in person who owns the account, defines their own habits, and records check-ins.

  • Define and adjust personal habits and their goals
  • Check in quickly each day
  • See streaks and completion rate that reflect the habit's goal

Assumptions

Items that should be verified before implementation.

When a habit's goal changes, past weeks are evaluated against the goal in effect at the time and only future periods use the new goal.

High impactAccepted

Archiving hides a habit from Today and stops new check-ins, but its detail page, stats, and past check-ins stay viewable.

Medium impactAccepted

For an N-times-per-week habit a streak counts consecutive weeks that met the weekly target; for an every-day habit it counts consecutive days with check-ins.

High impactAccepted

The owner's local date is taken from the browser at check-in time and stored with the check-in, so day boundaries follow the person's own timezone.
