# View and restore Blueprint revisions

The Blueprint page’s Versions control records saved product requirements. Compare the changes and restore earlier content as your current Blueprint.

Blueprint revisions are stored in the current browser. This article covers viewing and restoring those local records. For a generated app, see [Restore versions and publish your app](https://ideamade.ai/help/versions-and-publishing).

## Open local version history

1. Open the Product Blueprint you are working on.
2. Select **Versions** at the top. Its number identifies the current revision.
3. In **Local versions**, review each timestamp, summary, and entry.

_Entries run from newer to older. Use the summary and timestamp to identify the right revision._

## Compare the actual changes

Expand **View actual changes** in the entry you want to inspect. Compare its requirements with the preceding revision and review additions, changes, and removals.

_Version 2 saved manual edits in this example. The initial version has no preceding entry to compare with._

Restoring applies the whole Blueprint from the selected revision. Before choosing it, check that its pages, decisions, and requirements fit what you need now.

## Restore a revision

1. Finish or discard any unsaved edit, then open version history.
2. Select **Restore** in the target entry. The selected Blueprint content takes effect immediately.
3. Back in the Blueprint, check the success message, the new version number, and the content relevant to the restore.

[![Restoring version 2 shows a success message while the current revision becomes version 5.](https://ideamade.ai/help/en/blueprint-restored.jpg)](https://ideamade.ai/help/en/blueprint-restored.jpg)

_Restoring version 2 from version 4 creates version 5 in this example. “Version 2” in the success message identifies the source._

Restoring version 2 brings back the Open and Closed stages and the Blueprint from before the next contact date was added. Check these specific details to confirm the result.

## Undo a restore

Open **Versions** again. The newest entry identifies the restored version, and the previous revisions remain listed.

[![Version 5 records the restore while versions 4, 3, 2, and 1 remain in history.](https://ideamade.ai/help/en/blueprint-history-retained.jpg)](https://ideamade.ai/help/en/blueprint-history-retained.jpg)

_Versions 4, 3, 2, and 1 remain listed, so you can select the content you need and restore it again._

If you change your mind, restore the version you were using before. In this example, choosing version 4 brings back the pipeline stages and next contact date.

## Understand local storage

Blueprint revisions are saved only in the current browser and remain available after refreshing the page.

Clearing site storage deletes these local records. Before switching browsers or starting a new Blueprint, keep a separate written copy of important requirements so you can use them later.

## Common questions

### Why can’t I open version history or continue with the Blueprint?

Finish the current edit or proposal review first. Save, confirm, or discard pending changes before continuing.
